This Fort Worth family wanted a dramatic backyard centerpiece. We built a grotto waterfall with a hidden bench behind the falls and added fire-and-water bowls on the raised spa corners.

What we found
- • Plain pool with no feature at the far end
- • Raised spa had no visual connection to the rest of the yard
- • Backyard felt flat and unlit at night
- • Equipment pad was already being upgraded
The homeowner's goal
Create a resort-style grotto with fire and water for entertaining.
What we did
- 1. Built a gunite grotto cave with a bench behind the waterfall
- 2. Installed a stacked-stone waterfall face over the cave
- 3. Set fire-and-water bowls on the raised spa corners
- 4. Ran gas and water lines to the fire bowls
- 5. Resurfaced the pool and spa in midnight blue quartz
