Apartment Pool Resurfacing, Tile & Coping Refresh in Dallas, TX

This Dallas apartment pool had gone more than two decades with the same white plaster and original waterline tile. The surface was rough, stained, and the coping had shifted enough that the mastic joint was cracking. The new owners wanted a clean, modern finish look. We kept the bones and nothing else.

What we found

  • White plaster chalky and stained with rust spots
  • Several loose tiles along the waterline
  • Coping stones had settled, opening the mastic joint
  • Original skimmer and return fittings showing age
  • Outdated plumbing and equipment no longer up to code

The New Owners Goal

The new owner envisions a complete transformation of the pool area into a high-end, resort-style centerpiece designed to immediately captivate prospective residents and elevate the overall property appeal.

What we did

  1. 1. Drained and prepped the pool, protecting the shell from hydrostatic pressure
  2. 2. Chipped out the failing plaster to expose clean gunite
  3. 3. Replumbed the entire pool with new lines and fittings
  4. 4. Reset loose coping stones and re-grouted the waterline tile band
  5. 5. Installed new mosaic waterline tile and replaced worn fittings
  6. 6. Applied a fresh White Quartz Plaster interior and balanced the start-up water
  7. 7. Poured a new travertine deck around the pool
  8. 8. Installed new equipment and brought the pool up to code
