Travertine Pool Deck & Coping Replacement in Fort Worth, TX

This Fort Worth pool still had its original broom-finish concrete deck from the 1990s. It was cracked, hot, and had settled away from the coping. We removed it and installed a travertine deck and coping that stayed cool and looked modern.

What we found

  • Cracked and settled broom-finish concrete deck
  • Deck sloped toward the pool in spots
  • Coping had separated from the deck edge
  • Surface too hot to walk on barefoot in summer

The homeowner's goal

Replace the old concrete deck with a cooler, safer surface and clean coping.

What we did

  1. 1. Removed the old concrete deck and disposed of it
  2. 2. Regraded the base and added drainage away from the pool
  3. 3. Installed silver travertine pavers in a 16x24 pattern
  4. 4. Reset the coping in matching travertine
  5. 5. Sealed the deck and coping after installation

Results

  • Deck is noticeably cooler underfoot than old concrete
  • Cracks and trip hazards are gone
  • Water drains away from the pool correctly
  • Travertine and coping match for a clean edge
The deck used to be the worst part of the pool. Now it's the best part.
